Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday SundayImage courtesy of Alon Cohen I suspect that validation tag will only be good until the end of the week... I've been hitting this one off and on for quite a while now (usually when I'm avoiding working on something else <g>) and there's just too much stuff that will cause the validation to fail. ...but I finally tracked this one down to the font attributes and cleaned it up enough to work. ...only I had to add in way too much redundant code for my liking. We'll see how long it takes me to break it. Oh, the joys of hand-coding... Somehow yesterday went like this as far as the household dropoff and delivery service duties: Sleep in a bit as I have to take a kid to school and there's no point in getting up at the regular time when there's another twenty minuted to be wrung from the clutches of Morpheus. ...but you do have to get up and be ready on a tight enough time frame to get him to school at that window just before the "all at once" crowd hits. ...and then off to work to handle this and deal with that and back out to the schools to pick up the other son and his buddy after golf practice (game tomorrow at the Old Fig if you're in town) and take them by a deli for a decent meal and home to eat and start homework until the other mother can make it by. ...and find out there's a missing assignment that's not available on the web which puts us waiting for the other mother delivery service to do her thing and then head to the school to find not the assignment but the lockermate's assignment and nothing filled out (segue to a discussion on morals and ethics) and a note is left with a cell phone number to advise the owner that said paperwork would be back shortly, but only after passing through several traffic signals, one shopping center and a drugstore copy machine as it takes the Great Circle route back to school. Mind you, this is almost one of those unflappable deals; it's so absurd you may as well flow with it and just take the hit to the evening. ...of course when you get back you find that the reason the older kid has been hammering at his homework to earn some Internet time was to be able to come to you with a presentation worthy of any blue chip firm's chief PR flack as to why it was imperrative to all that he be able to purchase an electric guitar (six-string, not to be confused with the existing four-string bass unit). Okay... Let's see... The temperature took a ten degree plus drop from Wednesday to Thrusday and another ten degrees or so today. That's like 99F to 74F in forty-eight hours... Well, my photos were turned in yesterday; judging will be today. ...and we'll turn Brad's in today and may drop by the main section to see if they've judged any of the categories I entered by then. ...but we have to make it an early day: the home team is playing up in Washington and Brad and I have seats ready at the Philharmonic this evening...
Last night was Musorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain, Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Op.43 which includes the source theme for the movie Somewhere in Time, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, Op.93. It was a great night and one of grand orchestral dynamic range. Brad and I both had a good time and are planning our next trip...
