Hey, JHR!!!

How it is when you're cutting your chops in Taiko...

Check out the girl bracing the drum stand...

That drum stand and drum outweigh the girl stabilizing them by quite a bit...

The Thursday Threesome...

New: It's been a few weeks; what's new with you? Let's see... Well, we're gearing up for yet another yard sale (as a part of the Never Ending Room Transfer Project). ...and Daniel's cast is off!

Fall: Do you fall all over yourself getting bulbs in the ground for winter and spring blooms? Yep! ...or at least I try to. Brad's become a fellow gardener, planting away with me and waiting for spring to show off 'his' gardens. I have a bag of daffodils just waiting for a few free moments...

Colors: Which do you prefer, the bright jewel colors of fall, the white snow of winter, the pastels of new life in spring, the greens of summer? Man, I'm going to sound like the Trix rabbit! I'd love to see the fall colors of aspens on the hills as they turn. ...or the reds and oranges the cameras always seem to stop on during the college football games from the New England area. ...but we tend to move from summer to winter rather suddenly here. We do travel to see the snow, and summers tend to be a bit brown here; so I'll go with all the colors of the spring. The bulbs, the blossoms on the trees, the wildflowers on the hillsides. Yeah, spring here in the central valley is an okay thing...

How about you? Let us know your true colors, over on The Back Porch...

Come on over and chat!

Male moments...

Brad, busy being a good helper and making Shelley some tea since she's feeling a bit under the weather, is instructed to, "Put a teaspoon of sugar..."

At this point, I'm expecting the classic, "Oh, a teaspoon for tea bit from someone; but no, he's so on top of things that I hear the measuring spoons coming out of the drawer. ...and Shelley gently corrects him with "Just use one of the small spoons; they're also teaspoons."

From me: "Get used to it, Brad; there's no rhyme or reason to it; fifty some odd years and I still just ask, 'Do you mean a teaspoon or a teaspoon?' "

The most telling point? No comment at all from Herself to that...

Me, not long afterward, on an 'emergency' store run for milk, staring at the dairy case at the local Ralphs (the closest, but not the normal place), totally perplexed expression on my face, women passing me by with their eyes saying they just wanted to hug me to comfort me as lost and forlorn as I looked...

Off to the pay phone (didn't take the cell; you don't need it for a milk run). ...and do you know that pay phones here now cost fifty cents? ...and I only have sixty-five with me in my fanny pack (didn't bring change; you don't need it for a milk run) so I'd better get it right on the first try. ...to call in and find out which color milk carton or which label is the equivalent of what we usually get from the usual place.

Another data point on the information superhighway: Skim = non-fat.

I mean, they mandated a standardized color code for different sizes of IV catheters years ago! Why can't we do the same for milk cartons? Ya' know?

See, if's not just him, it's all of us...

Just hangin' around...

"Chaos...

...where brilliant dreams are born."

I finally got around to hanging the office artwork Friday afternoon. Well, I just assisted; Joe and Janeen don't trust me to get things straight. ... or even on the correct wall <g>!

This one hangs behind the right-hand work surface...

Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose...

Yeah, well, it's morning somewhere...
