Tapping into the collective consciousness...

You guys did real well with the last unknown I put up, so I'll turn to you once again. I ran across this figure on a marker here locally. Does anyone have any information on it? Thanks!

Who am I?

The Thursday Threesome...

Onesome: Red- Stop! Take a moment from your busy day and let us know what it's like now that the kids are back in school. Hey, even if you don't have kids, I'm betting the traffic pattern has changed on your commute! ...and not for the better, -eh? Oh, my. Yes, the guys are back in school and we're back to the fall schedule of school, homework, soccer practice, more homework, tired kids, tired parents and when the heck is the next vacation... Yep. ...and the commute is a bit more full than it has been <g>.

Twosome: Yellow- The leaves will be yellow and gold soon in New England! Who's your team this year? Oh, college of course! (Okay, you can go NFL if you'd like <g>...) I'm going to have to go with the local team; Oregon State is coming to town tomorrow (ESPN, 1900 PDT) to see if they'll get their helmets handed to them like they did two years ago (full disclosure: Oregon State kicked their tails hard at home last year). It should be a good season...

Threesome: Green- Go ahead, tell us what is happening in your neck of the woods as Autumn approaches. I've heard tales of the ash trees turning golden in Pennsylvania while central California is still in triple digits. What are you seeing when you're out on your porch? I'm seeing heat waves and absolutely terrible air quality. The storms over the hills cleared things out a bit, but we're back in full summer mode here. The ag industry is sending tonnes of dust up into the air (kinda' hard to plant without plowing, ya' know?) and it just stays there. ...and the heat has been non-stop. The other morning, 77F was logged as the overnight low. So, nope, not the slightest sign of Autumn here!

How about you? What's your story? Let us know, over on The Back Porch...

Come on over and chat!

Ch-ch-ch-changes...

Yep, it's time for another changeover here in the land of the TimeSink. Thanks to the very gracious work of Sheila Leitzel, the blog and it's associated pages have a cohesive look for the first time in like, well ... forever!

So far, the blog itself, the About page, Stories, and Archives, all linked above in the header, have been moved to the new styles. Gems, from the About page, has been swung also, and "Blading" is now showing at the top of the Stories page. "Walks" will follow there and the new "Views" should be up shortly.

...and that is just the latest little bit!

Barbara's flower...

Some of you liked that "Victorian Style" flower shot from the coast from two weeks back.

So that's what I was looking for when Brad and wandered off yesterday...

There's an 800 x 600, medium resolution desktop behind that pic; if you'd like higher res or a larger size, please let me know.

Out and about...

This morning, Brad and I went wandering after I came back from blading...

Nice composition...

That one is his. ...and so is this one (he composed it to get me taking my shot in his background).

Taken with the spy cam...

I think the kid has some talent here...
