So. What do we do now?
...especially with the people linked below.
If I speak in the tongues of angels
But have not love,
I'm only a resounding noise.
If I have the gift of knowledge
And if my faith moves mountains high
But have not love, I am nothing.
A sprinkling of things from the web on Tuesday, May 15, 2001:
Flowers seem to be a nice theme...
Amber, Chris, Patti, Jim, Randy, Noah, me...
(Though I know the One who holds
The stars in the Heavens
In the palm of His hand;
And if I give all I possess
To the poor and the helpless,
I'll still gain nothing,
without love.)
Poetry and prose...
David, John, Jeff
Love is patient
True love is always kind
Love does not envy.
Never brags; it's never proud.
Slow to wrath, it keep no records of wrongs against friends.
Love forgives;
We all could use forgiveness.
Public forums...
MetaFilter, JimFormation, CockyBastard (One especially cool comment: Everyone go and listen to Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings"...)
(Though I know the One who holds
The stars in the Heavens
In the palm of His hand;
And if I give all I possess
To the poor and the helpless,
I'll still gain nothing,
without love.)
Music and art...
Lisa, John (Cold Marble)
Love never fails
Love is true
Love's the one thing that can alway change you.
Love is patient
Love is kind
Love's the one reason the world survives.
As you see, I've killed the links; but I've kept the names in place to remind me of that day. ...because I want to remember the day for the people who responded the way they did. This post originally went up as a memorial of sorts; now it memorializes something different. No, not stupidity, rather how wonderful people can be.
(Though I know the One who holds
The stars in the Heavens
In the palm of His hand;
And if I give all I possess
To the poor and the helpless,
I'll still gain nothing,
without love.)
Tony wrote about how writing is a reactive science. Good enough; we reacted with our hearts that day. ...and that is just fine with me. ...and for all the words, and the venting, and the hammering some have taken, I'd like to think if one of us needed something, we'd react the same way again.
