Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday SundayDone! ...and done! ...and done in <g>. Brad's mission report is finished (welcome to the fourth grade in California schools), and Daniel's extra credit assignment is ready for his teacher's review. Presuming it passes muster, we'll spend an upcoming weekend building what he has written up and drawn. We need to somehow get down to eight hour workdays on the weekends. Sheesh. If anyone sees Shelley's or my lives would you please let us know? Oh, yeah... That's right: they return after the kids are off to college... Ah, heck. The call from Shelley said the noise on the phone line was on our side of the demarc. Darn (and several other words). That meant I'd be working on telco when I got home instead of basking in the love of my family as they brought me my slippers and my pipe.... Whaddaya' mean, "You're not supposed to be that far into the panel!" ? I mean, he checked my side, -neh? Well, that big old storm that was suppose to hit us so hard here has been a bit of a fizzle in the immediate local area. Yeah, we've had rain and some significant winds at times, but for the most part it's been pretty livable. The radar today showed the areas just north and south of us getting the brunt of the thunderstorm activity, so maybe we've just been lucky. So long as the mountains get snow from it all, whatever happens down here is okay with me... I've been working the tech side of the street a few nights this week. A question during a get together over the weekend has me working on setting up ICS and wireless linkage for someone. Thing is, we're talking several hundred miles apart and that's always fun <g>. The good news is that the end user is very able to follow instructions and communicate back with text and screen shots. The challenge of course is that we're talking Windows, specifically a Win2k box and an XP laptop. ...and a D-link wireless router stuck in the middle. ...and firewalls: Zone Alarm (and needed!) and the XP firewall. It's one of those step by step things that is progressing slowly but steadily. ...although I may have to reactivate that kludge from last year to evaluate why the router seems to be blocking the wireless unit from accessing the desktop's gateway. "...it's that the bear can dance at all." Mama Bear and Papa Bear are done dancing for this week... With the weather forecast giving us a decent reason, we've canceled the outing planned for this weekend. It's time to "not do". Yeah, there's church on Sunday. ...and Brad has a baseball meeting later that afternoon. ...but the snow trip that would have taken a bite out of Friday evening and totalled Saturday just needs to be pushed back. We need a break... So Saturday will become an organizational and cleaning day. Presuming we get up... I'll drag out my list from a month ago and get started just clearing stuff away from the work areas in the garage. ...and maybe even find a thing or two. ...and for evening work, there's the new injection system for Shelley's shot that I need to review and see if it's worth posting like the current one. Noon already? Okay. ...but since I've been up since sunrise and already feel like my legs are done in, it may be nap time <g>! Just a work day here; even the cats are helping with the cleaning... Today may be a 'no work day'... It's not that we don't have things to do, but that we may not have bodies to do them with. To say we over extended ourselves Saturday barely makes the case. Sheesh... Shelley and the guys hit the pantry in the garage and cleared, cleaned and started the restock. ...but it took long enough that the van didn't spend the night inside! ...and my interior 'find it, sort it, box it" process went really well, it's just that I ended up with more process than time. Today is looking like an early service at church so we can get home and get on things once again...
