Additional "Notes from Life", to append to Saturday's post: When you are borderline 'mid-fifties/early-fifties' (and denying every minute of it) and blade for exercise instead of running because of the backlash of the basic laws of physics, then establishing a strong defensive postion and defending it in Laser Quest is more likely the better option over pell mell attacks on defended positions followed by strategic retreats to draw them out where they can be slaughtered on the open plains...

In other news, Easter Vacation is upon us. Does that mean Shelley is trapped at home with the two of them? Nah, she'll haul them over to the batting practice place and have some fun time bonding with her sons. ...and tag team me with a WWF slap the minute I walk in the door!

...and I'll be happy to come home: No homework!

Tuesday

Late, but hey, it's vacation for some out here <g>! I've been doing the later routine at work this week in the hope that Shelley will be able to sleep in a bit. So far that has only worked once (well, it's only Tuesday). This morning she was up to get Brad to a dental appointment, but I'm hoping Wednesday will be like Monday and she can just wake up naturally...

...and a little update on the iMac saga is probably warranted. So far I've managed to find a stable memory configuration at 160megs and the keyboard situation is a slam. The Kensington Salon mouse is cool, but not all of the aps treat it the same, so the learning curve is a bit steep. That and I can get it to scroll down just fine, but I'm missing the trick to get it to scroll up.

Yeah, I know I'm violating some rule by having a mouse with a right button (and a center button), but heck, coming from the PC and Linux world I'll take the crutch. I'll leave things as they are for now and keep evaluating they system. The card reader I tried on it seems to work okay, so that's another hurdle done with...

On the software front, I downloaded Fetch, and it and BBEdit look like they'll be an okay combo to use. ...but since there's a version of a higher end HTML editor on here, I figure I'd best check it out and see if I can use it. After the usual "How the heck do they do things on this side of the street?", I managed to download this page and I'm working on it now on the iMac...

So if you see this, it worked!

Wednesday

Allergy season here has been taking me down hard this year. Brad has had some luck with Clariton so I gave it a whirl; that ended up with me falling asleep when I came home the last two evenings. ...and then being just awake enough to want to stay up.

Last night I didn't take any and today has been somewhat better. ...but blading and dinner put me asleep sitting up on the couch. I think I'll post tomorrow's blog shot early and head on off to bed...

Plan "A" anyway...

Thursday

Man, I have to say, coming home from a long day at work and finding the oldest has spent most of his day planting flowers under his mom's direction is a very nice thing. ...and he did a nice job too! It looks like my duties out front are to remind them to use snail bait (so we don't have a repeat of last year's debacle) and to reset the drip system to take care of the planter migration.

Coolness!

Friday

The released us a bit early from work today, but all I managed to do was come home and sleep until supper. That, church, and a side run to Target took care of the evening pretty well...

Now my cleaning and clearing part of the party prep (Brad's "grandparent's party" is Saturday) is over and I think I'd just better go to bed. I ended up taking another Claritin and it could be a longish day Saturday...

Have a good weekend!

Saturday

It's been a bit of a full day after quite a full week. Brad had a party today and played a full practice baseball game with his team. He also rode Daniel's tail into the ground on their bikes this evening.

You would think he'd be tired enough to go to sleep, wouldn't you? Perhaps it's his birthday falling on Easter? Regardless, it's after midnight and I have eggs to hide!

Patience, Dan, patience...

Sunday

Good morning, good night<g>... The boys are up (well, Brad maybe never was down), they've followed their clues and found their baskets (cleverly hidden by me sometime around 0'dark30 in the hall closet next to the room where Brad wasn't sleeping!), and they've found all the eggs I hid in the yard at an even later hour.

Shelley's says there were ninety-five of them...
