Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday SundayWell, Shelley and the boys have one more day off, while I'm back to the grind at the office. I'm betting Brad will sleep some of the day since he was up so late and so early Sunday. ...but he had a good Easter and a good birthday, and those are good to know. Daniel had a good Easter and had a good time over at his godmother's house when we joined her family for Easter lunch. Me? I'm just tired from being up later than planned and not being able to sleep in <g>... Journaling can get interesting some days and dead boring on others, but I've been reading a book lately that suggests core dumps every morning as a way of clearing your mind and getting into the practice of writing. Well, here the practice is in full swing; and while the core dumps usually don't show up on this particular site, they do occur from time to time. ...and I'm wondering about working a bit harder on the morning ones. My excuse, for that is what it is, is that I'm brain dead in the mornings. The other dodge is that I don't write well enough to be readable. ...but anyone who has received one of my morning emails knows I can occasionally put together a coherent thought or two, and I'm suspecting the computer beats the heck out of paper since my brain dumps to the keyboard much faster than it dumps to the pen. My practice of writing at night has evolved from the simple fact that late evenings/nights are the only time things are consistently quiet at the house (or at the beach). ...and I've used the converse of the author's suggested morning routine to allow myself a little bit of reflection on what has gone right with the day, rather than grousing off to bed muttering about this or that. ...and today I'd rather go read some more of her concepts than bitch about my allergies <g>! Yeah, blading was uphill, against the wind, in the snow, both ways. ...but after that I managed a couple of decent pictures, so we'll call that a plus, -eh? The first game of the season... Basic supplies: chair, camera, water, Zaurus (with one compact flash card loaded with live Buffett; although I was advised singing along was not to be tolerated <g>). Emergency supplies: jacket, blanket, allergy meds... Oh, not much... How about you? Yep, I went to bed and read last night... Today was a buzz saw at work, so blading for detox became a necessity rather than a luxury. ...and Daniel attended a school dance, so homework didn't end until just a bit ago. Yesterday turned out to be a red letter day for both the guys: Daniel had fun at his school dance (and yes, actually danced!), and Brad had a school assembly where was presented a "Principal's Honor" certificate for straight "A"s. ...but his day got better; somehow Shelley's Dad was finangled into springing for lunch after the awards assembly and Brad chose a new eatery by the college. While we were chowing down, a group of F-16 jockeys from the 144th sat down to have lunch. After Brad saw a couple of younger kids ask for autographs, I told him I'd be happy to walk him over if he wanted to ask. We did and while the guys were signing his piece of paper, the major removed his shoulder patch and gave it to Brad! Now that is a class act! Hey, hey, it's the weekend! Yeah! ...and with no commitments? Hmmm... Well, one baseball game at 0900 (a bit early, but brunch will be a fun deal since I'll cook for the guys too). ...and some minor homework stuff. ...but it's looking like maybe some rest and catchup work may be the order of the day. Baseball yesterday started way too early, and in way marginal weather. ...but we had a good time. One thing though: Don't be walking Brad... Yep, one walk, one steal and one passed ball...
