Monday

Lots happening, just all pretty mundane stuff...

Tuesday

No post...

Wednesday

Hmm... Maybe a couple of photo notes in lieu of another 'no post'? Okay, we'll start with that yellow tom: he's the neighborhood bully. ...and while he'll take off if a human shows up, it's only for a limited distance; if you're a cat or a dog, you're on your own. I run across him when I check on the roses across the street; he hangs out in that back yard. Usually he hops the fence when he realizes I'm there, but this day he just settled in under some bushes. I'm thinking he was recovering from his latest altercation: that one eye is beginning to open again; last week it was looking pretty bad.

...and the roses are putting out new growth; most of the ones I did as a project are looking pretty good. They're behind the rest of the neighborhood's, but that's because I don't just level the tops in a hedge-like fashion, but actually use the rosarian approach. I'm hoping to be able to get some shots from that garden this year.

Which reminds me: someone asked how I got the blue and white background effect on that miniature rose from a couple of Monday's back; I'll put a rollover up here or on the blog: that's just a depth of field trick involving a bright blue pickup truck about fifteen feet away.

Off to bed; geometry is leaving me brain fried...

Thursday

Thursday? That means tomorrow is Friday! Yeah, I'm more than ready for that. I'd have a post here, but I've spent the evening trying to figure out why the heck printing from the Linux boxes behaves in a different fashion for one particular program. I'm betting it's because they're using their own JRE and it's not matching up well with things. More work is indicated...

Paying forward...

Friday

...and it is a late, late Friday night. Sometimes it's good to be able to get a project or two done 'after hours'. ...and it's also good to have everyone finally asleep and be able to listen to music on the headphones and just kick it for a bit.

Let's hear it for the weekend!

Saturday

Concert night tonight. Audio Adrenaline is in town with a couple of other bands and we're headed that way with another family to enjoy the elevated noise levels <g>...

Photo notes? The shot of the ducks and the shot of the cherry blossoms are the reason I carry the 'small' camera on my belt. I mean, you just never know when something needs to be photographed, -eh?

Back tomorrow...

Sunday

The concert? A great time. A guy named Aaron Shust opened; I'd only heard one of his songs, but he's a rising star in Christian rock. Audio Adrenaline is on their final tour; the lead singer's voice is going and he's having to hand off more and more to the other guys (and the occasional audience member). Still, they rank as one of the highest energy bands in the business.

Mercy Me? We saw them when they opened for Audio A a few years back; they've kept their niche as a worship band from Texas but have expanded the show nicely. A couple more albums have helped.

We didn't get home until nearly midnight (an ice cream stop along the way <g>) and Sunday has been a day of recovery for all of us. Of course, that didn't stop Shelley and me from both overdoing the work thing a bit. Still, we're not going to sit back when the weather is in the 70s...

...catch you next week!
