Daily doings in the land of The Time Sink
"What type of chicken are we having tonight, Honey?"

"Costco..."

S'okay... Today the ladies from the billing office invited some of us admin types to their potluck brunch. This month's theme was Mexican. Uh-huh... Chorizo in the meat for the tacos and burritos, bacon in the beans, cheese in the rice, and homemade tortillas. ...and pineapple pie for dessert (not sure about that one).

So, a little chicken is probably good for me...

Funny, though: I seemed to have plenty of energy for blading this afternoon...

"Yep, you made it!"

Those were the words of a local DJ this morning. I like her attitude: she's already declared it the weekend; we just can't play full out for a few hours yet..

On the way to work this morning, I decided that SF authors who use 'translating to the higher energy bands' to gain speed in space, ala David Weber and some others, picked that concept up from doing successful merges on the California freeway system...

While we're on the subject, one of SF's best authors, Dr. Deborah Doyle (MageWorlds and such) expounds on SF and Girl Cooties...

Nope, no extra charge; consider it a bonus...

Springboard heck...

I'd call this a 10.0 across the board.

Then again, you knew I was on His side<g>...

When they're doing eighty in the slow lane...

...maybe that's a metaphor for Tuesday this week. ...seeing as how it's Wednesday.

Ah, well. Lose a day; gain a day...

Hey, Cecil's back. ...and with a trip report (you have to read the entire thing if you absolutely have to know about the rock; I'd forgotten the family legacy).

Dunno', pal; sounds suspiciously like a life<g>.

...and Ms. Tracy makes a darned important point about life: pain beats numbness (adult content site; but then, we're supposed to be adults).

...and for the theorists out there: just trust some of us on these things.

Speaking of recovery, I sent Tracy's link to the ex-padre on to Dave. Was that mean or what? It's not like he needs another site to read. ...and springboard from.

Hey, Rick; you might find some pickings there too...

You know it's been an okay day...

...when you've put in your eight hours; put in three miles; and are ready for dinner before most of the work force is even on the road.

'Course, the downside of that is getting to work by 0700...

No wonder the trees are confused...

Well, the birches and aspens have figured it out, maybe due to the cooler nights. But the maples are just getting a clue...

...probably 'cause today's high is predicted to be 78F.

Geekdom...

I scored way too high on Dan Seto's "You might be an Engineer if..." test last Friday...

But then I have to wonder about his motives when I see today's post about a Linux based, Bluetooth enabled, wrist watch...

Nothin'...

Just dinking around with the site. Maybe a bit more later...

I've been on a self-declared three-day weekend and been pretty much doing whatever I feel like. It's been a good one overall; I hope yours has been as nice.
