Full Disclosure...

My bathroom has a red, white and blue accent:

But just the one!

The Thursday Threesome...

Onesome. Long--Long tall drink. What's your favorite beverage, alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic? Ummmm. I currently cannot get enough flavors of iced coffee! I'm recently hooked on what my assistant calls "a politically correct addiction"...

Twosome. Hot--Do you like it hot? Spicy hot food, that is! Oh heck yes! Chili so hot you sweat, spicy omelets, barbequed meat with a spicy rub... Yep. Mild is for when you need a break between fun meals!

Threesome. Summer--Summer makes you think of what food? What's your favorite summer recipe? Hmmmm... Tri-tip roasts, cooked for about eight hours in the barbeque... Tuna salad sandwiches... Shrimp and garlic cheesebread after a day on the beach... Margaritas...

How about you? Share your favorites, over on The Back Porch...

I think I'll distract myself...

...from the heat by going back to Sunday's sunset.

It gave us some California gold:

...and later, some pure Maxfield Parrish:

Ya' know...

103F at 1930 is just a bit much...

Objects in the mirror...

I've just always wanted that shot...

Well, it's not forty years in the desert...

...but I found Dave's spiritual journey fascinating.

Oh, don't bother to follow that link; I just put it up for my personal use. I mean, it's long and boring and full of theology and stuff that's of no interest to most people. Really. (Oh, and Charlie started it...)

We're going to have to get a bigger sink...

Home from church...

...and the Sunday afternoon dialog begins.

Shelley, as she is transferring laundry from the washer to the dryer:
Gosh darn it, Daniel, I told you to check these first!

Hey, Brad, I found my caps!

...and I say a silent prayer of thanks, since that's a gas-fired dryer.

Shall we shed a little light on things???
If you are not aware, please become so...

Speaking of which...

Things that make you think about life and exactly who you are. ...and are not mainstream, except for maybe here on the web where most of us seem to be some distance from the center of that bell curve... From earlier this week:

Things that make me look ahead:

It's the massive number of people distributed over the planet that can cover a story as the shrinking budgets and conflicted interest of the pros constrict the amount of news they can carry. It's circulation and distribution. Blogs are bypasses for information, like the Internet routes around outages, just at a higher level.

Things that make me think:

If you don't believe me, sit down for a moment and decide what you might do if you were Newdow, only you were Newdow the Christian, and you'd been asked to recite "in Buddha we trust" for the entirety of your life. Once that question is honestly answered in your head, then maybe it's OK to move on to questioning motives.

Things I'd wish I'd written:

Just a small space of time to recharge the battery that powers my proverbial soft shoulder and hundred watt smile. Just a little time for your radiant heat to soften my arthritic heart.

What are you doing next Sunday?

Well, if you have a camera, you could be recording your day Behind the Curtain style with Patti Ann over at I must...

Go see; it sounds like fun!

Normal...

The other day, someone mentioned in an email that things were "...Back to normal... whatever the heck that is! :)". ...and I was reminded of a quote I use from time to time, something to the effect of "Normal is the average of all the abnormalities" ...and I always wonder why the heck would I want to be average. ...or like everyone else ...or march to the average drummer.

Hmmmm.... It seems I'm not the only one who seems to feel that way.

You know about bell curves and all that??? Yeah, I changed the blog title too...
