The Thursday Threesome...

Onesome. Follow. Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower or somewhere in between? Tell us why... Hmmm... I see myself as a follower. I don't think I lead much. ...but I have been advised differently.

Twosome. the yellow brick. what's the wildest colored structure you've ever seen? Give us a mind picture! Easy: the Varaz Samuelian gallery (now torn down) locally. The walls were painted in long, narrow triangles of primary colors. Your eye really couldn't recognize where the corners were.

Threesome. road. traffic problems? Tell us about the busiest road in your neck of the woods! Another softball: Highway 41 heading north out of downtown Fresno; surface roads are quicker.

How about you? Let us know where your road leads, over on The Back Porch...

Come on over and chat!

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...

I dropped by the house for a moment while I was out today. ...and I thought I'd do the helpful husband thing and get the mail.

Never again... At least until the shock wears off:

Tell me it ain*t so...

Yeah, Cher... On the cover of Good Housekeeping...

Good theatre...

As I was headed toward the DMV (for the second appointment there on a Monday; you do the mental math), I saw a guy at a bus stop wearing a set of hearing protectors. He was just sitting there, watching traffic... At first, I thought maybe he was sporting radio headphones; but a closer look showed them to be a standard shooter's pair. Whatever...

...until about a half a block later, I noticed another guy headed in that direction. ...and what caught my eye with him was the duffel bag he was carrying. He wasn't holding it by the handle; it was tucked under his arm and things were protruding from it. WT? As I passed by, the 'duffel bag' came into focus as a set of bagpipes.

Now, I have to wonder...

Fixed Focus, the TimeSink galleries...

The eyeball? You can blame that on Sheila and Brandy. Yeah, those two...

Spanish lesson...

One of the tidbits for the new setup in the kitchen will be a little mirror mounted on the hutch. I was testing things tonight with Shelley's makeup mirror. ...and watching the game as I posted. ...and commenting on the plays. ...with my back to the TV.

Yes, Daniel (he of the quick channel change when a parent comes into the room):

"Carne muerte..."

Still laughing...

So I went out blading on the first really cool morning of Autumn. ...and the cloud cover was holding and not clearing (unlike the predictions of both forecasts<g>). ...and life was so nice.

So I cranked up my rate and enjoyed the morning tailwind . ...and took my heart rate up past the high alarm setting for the first time in a while (not to worry; it's only set at the 160 mark). ...and just flat cruised.

Yeah, that felt good. ...and even heading back into the wind felt good. ...but as I came into the last stretch toward home, I heard a rustling sound just behind me in the field next to the road. I thought maybe it was Snowball, one of the neighborhood cats, bounding along as she hunted (me?). ...or maybe it was the wind? As I turned into the next street, I could look back into the field, but I couldn't see anything! No, wait... Yes I could. ...on the street I'd just left. Rain. Following me. ...at about the same speed as I was traveling. Interesting...

I was glad I'd turned it up a notch. ...and that I was only a block or so from home!

'Cause blading in the rain just doesn't work well at all...
