What is this, The Food Network???
Cecil is near tears over some really primo Mexican food; John from ColdMarble is making food to die for; John from Iowa is linking us to Chicken poetry in Perl...
Thank goodness Al's working too much to post another recipe!
...but it's too late; they've gotten to me! I feel the urge to get to bed early, just so I can get up and prepare some sort of omelet extravaganza in the morning. If I wake up early enough, I can hit the store before Shelley and the boys are cognizant. Yeah, that sounds good: something to counteract all the sugar in Brad's system; something for Daniel to play soccer on; something for Shelley to try to figure out the points on; and something just for my tastebuds to enjoy...
G'night!

Oh yeah; he'll sleep good tonight. Not...
Bradley, aged seven, came tigger-bouncing home from a birthday party a little earlier this evening...
Shelley: "Brad, what did you have to eat?"
The accused: "One piece of pizza, five pixie stiks, two Cherry Cokes... Oh, yeah (at Daniel's prompt); some cake and ice cream."
One of the few times Shelley hasn't gone along with him to a party...
My comment: "Gee, I hope Daniel can get to sleep tonight, what with the next bed over shaking that much..."
Mr. Rager: just file these away for use in a few years.

Updates...
Well, that "ping" page seems to work okay.
I hadn't posted in several days, which should have left me below the radar when I updated this morning. I used the pinger and the update showed up on both the Userland Updates page and in my 'Favorites' box...
Nice work...

Ya' know...
For way too many years I was blasted out of sleep by either the tones at the fire stations or by my pager going off.
I still think I prefer that to Patti's system...

Finally...
I commented in garret's discussion group the other day about the weather in the west (he's ready for fall and I haven't seen a leaf turn yet). Yesterday may be the start of our fall: the temperature dropped into the eighties for the first time in a while...
Shelley's ready...

It's Fall somewhere, right?
Last night, I was browsing the ads while helping Daniel with his homework. ...and I was making a note to myself about a good price on a sack of fifty daffodil bulbs.
...'til I remembered that the man in the mirror is the one who has to plant all of them!
That's okay; I just can't get ramped up for bulb planting when the temperature is still in the mid-nineties...

The Weather Report...
garret's had snow...
...and I'm blading on 96F afternoons.
...and dipping in a 68F pool.
It's like some sort of Californian sauna thing...

Tidbits after a long week...
The local team won again, this time over Louisiana Tech. ...and it was one of the best games I've seen in a while. Good enough that Shelley stayed up to watch it with me...
Sometimes medical knowledge can be a Good Thing... ...and sometimes it can be a curse.
...and Hal, I think the 'shiny rocks' thing probably is what started this off<g>! But the best parts are yet to come: When a tiny hand can barely grasp your little finger... ...and the first time you come in the door to "Daddy's Home!".
Enjoy, my friend...
