In the cup holder this evening...
A Single Angry word, Tony Hightower's release from a year or so ago (the new one is in the works).
Resonating with me tonight: Somebody turns on a radio:
Just when I think I can't take it anymore, somebody somewhere turns on a radio.
Cool album, Tony...
...also cool was how one of his distributors, CD Baby handled the order process: after all the usual stuff, this came in by email when the order was shipped:
Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Friday, January 11th.
I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!
Yeah, it may be silly, but things like that will bring me back to them for future orders. Long live the indies!

Yeah, I was getting a few things done...

Interesting news...
...on the copy protection front: Philips Electronics, who has quite a say in what goes on with CDs, has declared that copy protected CDs cannot use the "Compact Disc" logo! That should make life real interesting for some in the industry.
Oh, and they say they'll manufacture burners that will copy 'copy protected' CDs...

Kid's these days...
The adult kind...
This evening, Shelley took Daniel and one of his friends to a birthday party for one of the girls in their class. When she called in to say she'd be a bit late, I thought it was due to dropping the other boy off. ...even though he only lives a block away. Turns out she led both boys on a 'silly string' expedition to Sarah's house...
...and shortly after they arrived home, Daniel received a one-word phone call that said simply, "Payback!"
He's been on the phone with his friend for the last thirty minutes reviewing ways to 'guard' their houses...
Thing is, he's DOA: the mom was in on it all and is hosting a sleepover tonight... History has show that to be potent combination.
I suspect there'll be some serious cleanup issues in the morning...
