...and away we go once again:
On the second day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
1) Email me your URI (since I don't have comments), and put the next section of lyrics (one chorus) on your site with this same message in your comments. If you want to upload the image series for your verse, Deb's pointing us here.
2) Add a link to this post using the word "previous".
3) Be ready to add the "next" link to the first person that posts to your site with the next section of lyrics.
4) The last person needs to bring us back to the beginning (here).
Any thoughts on that?
Onesome: Free Do you watch the ads for "Buy this and get this trinket free" just so you can get that second gift? ...and then wonder what to do with the first one? Oh, I am such a sucker for that! ...or a "order this much stuff by this date and get a free widget" when I'm at work. Give me a bargain and I'm there!
Twosome: Gift How the heck figure do you figure out how to buy gifts for family members? You know, the ones with no list who say, "Oh, whatever..." I beg. I plead. I send emails. ...and if all else fails, I get gift certificates.
Threesome: Wrapping Are you a wrapping maven? ..or are are you wrappingly challenged? Who does the gift wrapping around your place anyway? Me and tape: no hope. ...shouldn't have any type in the same room with me. I run shipping and receiving and my courier hides the tape gun from me. No tape dispenser on my desk. I tried that cutesy wrist dispenser last year. ...and cut off the circulation to my hand while still missing the folds on the paper.... You know those little bags you put things in and then stuff with tissue paper??? Yeah, I can handle those.
How about you? Wrap yours up and let us know, over on The Back Porch...

Okay, I'll play along!
A wimoweh, a-wimoweh a-wimoweh, a wimoweh
A wimoweh, a-wimoweh a-wimoweh, a wimoweh
A wimoweh, a-wimoweh a-wimoweh, a wimoweh
A wimoweh, a-wimoweh a-wimoweh, a wimoweh

Yeah, your yearly reminder... It's still here and isn't going away all that soon. ...but the people who have it are.
I don't take the site dark on December 1st each year. ...and I don't compile a list of resources, since it seems every year someone does a bang up job. Such as this year, when the aptly named Linkmeister puts up linkage to some historical background of AIDS.
No, what I do is send you to the piece I wrote in 2000 about a fellow humorist who went by the name of Jay Ranger. Seriously, it's worth a read, if only for the recipe for MacGyver's Chocolate Chip cookies...
...and my thanks to Bo Leuf of the Daynotes Gang for keeping those links alive. I do enjoy being able to 'playback' my fun times with Jay.
Link. ...and think.

In something very much akin to hoisting the Jolly Roger...
...I can say I am finished with the front of the house.
More later...

No, I didn't finish with lights yesterday, but it wasn't for lack of assistance. Both boys helped with the massive unload from the attic, and Brad was quite an addition to the workforce as the "light holder" while I was up on the extension ladder! I need the light strings held away from the ladder and other things they might catch on; that's not only safer, but keeps me from having to go up and down the ladder constantly.
...and when I'm doing the trees with an eighteen foot pole, I'm very careful to string all the lights out on the lawn in such a fashion that they can't snag on anything. So yesterday when I felt a tug, I was a little surprised:
...and an action shot:
One too many assistants...
