Monday

Well, well, well, while the midwest, northeast and east are freezing their keisters off, we're finally getting a bit of a weather pattern ourselves out here. ...enough for perhaps several days of rain. That will be welcome to the skiers and farmers and everyone who wants to get out of yardwork this weekend.

...and on the 64 bit front, overall things are good: I managed to get Firefox 2 up and JRE installed and then hose that entire installation. Evolution is still "just okay", but I'm not seeing any reason not to move this machine to Thunderbird and Sunbird for compatibility with my other boxes. ...and syncing with the Zaurus looks like it may become even more of a necessity: I believe I'm going to be moving off Outlook (and the entire MS Office suite) at work.

More when time presents itself better...

Tuesday

Let's see... Connie: Alwin has posted; you can call off the dogs... Well, you can once you thaw them out! Thank you, Susan for the linkage...

...and I think one of the bits of wonkiness I see on this here Ubuntu 64 install may have nothing to do with the OS or software and everything to do with a keyboard that needs a key or two dealt with. ...or maybe, just maybe, I need to move my KVM switch into something manufactured in this century. Joy, adventures in hardware...

Naw, it's seriously time to tighten up the layers I've built up over the last year or so and get things back in order; at least one of these boxen can be retired and join the parts collective...

Mid week? Sure, I'll take that...

Wednesday

Tiffany? Sure. Shelley went by my sister's place yesterday and found her (Tiff) all ready for the next holiday. ...and to be fair, Tiffany kinda' creeps Shelley out <g>!

So of course Ann was kind enough to have a shot of Tiff in my inbox before Shelley even got home. ...and since I know her legion of followers out there (Tiffany's, not Shelley's) would be curious, she's posted in all her 'heartfelt' glory.

I'm really thinking she needs a gallery of her own by the end of the year...

Thursday

School event tonight; carpet cleaner in the morning.

Post deferred...

Friday

...and the rains have come and may stay for a while. That will just change the color saturation on the photoblog a bit as I may be able to tease out deeper colors (as with the crocus) when I'm shooting in shade.

Lightroom 1.0 cannot get here soon enough for me; the major sources of practical reviews have it and are putting up tutorials and galleries until I'm just beside myself wanting all the twiddly bits almost available to me.

Onward to the rainy weekend!

Saturday

A not so lazy day: I pruned roses (for the neighbor) in the light and then not-so-light rain (only two more sessions to go as it stands) and then we saw the kids off for a ski trip with another family...

Yes, dinner out as a couple was very nice <g>!

Sunday

Ah, the children have landed back home on the mothership and the distaff side is all comfortable again. ...not that she missed them toooooo much (peace is a seductive concept), but knowing they're back safely is even better.

...and the weather did break for a bit and we did have some sunny skies for a time. The rain is scheduled back tomorrow, but perhaps only for a day or two. ..and then it looks like we'll take a break until the weekend.

...and on the tech side, I tool the weekend off for the most part, but I'm still working my way around the 64 bit box seeing what will work and what won't.

Have a good evening...
