Sunset...

Rain? I could smell something on the wind...

...or maybe this shows it better.

Weeds at sunset...

Neither really captures the scent of rain on the air. ...and someone's wood fire somewhere upwind. ...or the sounds of the crickets in the field. ...or the ducks overhead. ...or even the jays squawking on the fence to the south and the dog barking at them for disturbing his slumber.

Maybe I can try though...

He's getting his own photoblog...

"Dad, let me borrow your camera. You should see this shot!" This, while the extended family is trying to put together a food order yesterday at lunch....

What you're seeing is his shot of the table showing the reflections of the ceiling lamps (and people). Mouseover for a 180 rotation...

Nope, that's upside down!
Mouseover for the flip...

Yeah, time to cut him loose, I think...

The Thursday Threesome...

Onesome: Insomnia-- Ever have it? Some do and some don't, but have you ever been hounded awake for that endless hour after hour with no hope of sleep? ...or does the very act of touching head to pillow put you out for the count? Nope, not a whole lot anymore. I used to occasionally have bouts of sleeplessness, but the last few years have been better. I do have a rather terrible habit of staying up to late working or reading, but that's just my lifestyle...

Twosome: the cure-- Hey, if you do have the occasional bout or chronic insomnia, what do you do about it? Work? Read? Try cures? Hmmm... Did you ever find one that worked? Well, some of my not having problems lately may be due to me taking melantonin as a supplement (it also whitens and brightens and doesn't fade colors <g>). When I can't sleep, I'll read. ...or write here.

Threesome: for sleep-- Female/male, young/not so young, we all need varying amounts of sleep. What's your personal sleep cycle? Five hours? Ten hours? ...and if you had a choice, what would be your personal sleep cycle? ...and yes, "All day long" is a valid answer <g> Five and a half hours seems to be my personal cycle. If I get that, I'm good to go, providing the coffee is available. ...but every so often, I would like to be able to sleep in until noon. ...and that is so not happening again this week!

Hey, what are you doing up so late? Drop by and let us know, over on The Back Porch...

Come on over and chat!
