Now what do I do???
So I finally make it through the week, the last several days of which have been majorly disconnected from the net except for the late hours of the night...
...and I figure I have it all under control after I, a) get home from work, b) pull a store run with Daniel for some groceries, c) make myself just a sweet, over-caffeinated latte (before I even consider an evening meal; that finally went down around 2100), and d) settle in for a little geekfest to get the Win2k box back up.
...and the motherboard won't work with this case.
...and the stores are closed.
...and I'm sitting here all wired and ready for some really intense work.
...and, I mean, like, you know, like, really?
What do I do now?!?!?
Yes, Linda? Right... I do recall that mudslides go well with iced coffee <g>...
I probably should finish this post first...

Onesome: New- Hey, it's close enough to spring (even though the East Coasters have been getting hammered) to ask what's on the "to do" list for March. Do you have plans for changing anything around in your home or apartment? ...or are you ready to just get out of the place once the weather clears? Well, we're on the last leg of The Great Move here (for the uninitiated, that's me moving ten years of books and computers out of the "library" and turning it into a room for Brad; the story is told intermittently on my Daynotes pages). All that's left to do is the carpet for Daniel's room so we can move him back in there.
Twosome: Paint- ...any refurbishing or refinishing projects just waiting for the warm weather? That trim that needs painting or that one room with that horrible carpet? ...or do you have something you just dream about doing? Oh, heck yes, I moved a bunch of stuff to the garage and it's just more or less "there". I need to paint the corner where all the electronics is living and see about tidying up the entire area.
Threesome: Smell- ...and lest we forget the gardeners out there: what spring madness do you have planned in the plant world? New flowers for the windowsill? How about that garden where the snails took over last year? ...or does a quick dusting of the artificial ficus cover you for another year? Weeding, weeding, and possibly some weeding... Gah, I have a mess out there; every weekend it's either been homework, projects, rain, or inside projects. I need to get Brad out with me and start yanking the stuff that doesn't belong! ...and set out the snail bait so the hostas can have another year of life.
What are you getting ready for? Let us know, over on The Back Porch...

Some weeks...
So, if you're following my Daynotes pages, you know that Mainspring unwound itself rather thoroughly last night...
...and my only real goal for this evening, other than surviving the Homework Experience, was to either watch or tape the final episode of Birds of Prey. Yeah, I don't watch much of the tube other than some sports, but this comic book spinoff certainly captured my attention when it came on. ...and it's probably gone after this season. Darn...
...and Sarah even emailed me at work today to remind me about it!
So I get home and get Daniel's homework checkover out of the way before dinner. ...and as I check the paper for the exact time ('cause it's supposed to be a two hour deal and I may want to tape it and just watch it later), I see that there's a local college game on in that time slot. Oh, bother... So I look past the game to see if the show is scheduled then. Nope. Before??? Oh, my yes! It started locally at 1700. ...and it was 1830. Grand Bother...
Oh, yeah, the game? It just ended. 74:70 double overtime... Road game...
I guess I'll call this evening a tie <g>!

So near, yet so far...
Just another day or two...

More rain in the forecast...
Perhaps another of garret's "exceptions to grey weather":
I think I'll blade now rather than later...
02/15/2003 04:04:04 PMDad, may I go outside and play...
