03/13/2003, 1922Mountain: Hey, summer's on the way! If you can get away, is it to the mountains or to the beaches? ...and even if you cannot: if you could, which would you go for? The beach. The Beach! The Beach!!! When this valley hits 110 or so, lemme' outa' here and plant me where the wild margaritas roam. ...and where there's nothing to do but read and surf the web at night. ...and read and boogie board with the boys during the day. Soon. Real soon...
Spring: Enough is enough! Are you ready for Spring yet? ...or are you one of the lucky ones who are aleady smelling the roses? Ready? Heck, we've been pulling weeds for weeks. I think we still have some weather to weather; but yeah, it was a mild winter by our standards.
Water: Domestic or bottled? Are you one of those who just cannot drink tap water and absolutely has to have bottled? ...or does any source that has some chlorine in it to okay with you? I'm pretty much okay with tap water; but since someone else doesn't trust municipal systems, there's always a crock of filtered water on the counter. ...and lots of water bottles scattered throughout the van.
Hey! How about you? Let us know what your thoughts are, over on The Back Porch...
Got a minute?
She has a problem and could use a little help. The issue is vehicular traffic on public beaches and She has some interesting pictures of what has been happening across the "street".
If you've hung around here for very long, you've seen quite a few beach pictures during the Summer months. The reason I can show them is that the area of the California coast where we vacation prohibits vehicular traffic on the beach. Sure, you have to park and walk (about 300 feet in most cases), but the kids can run free and not have to worry about being run over or having their ocean access blocked by a phalanx of cars. It wasn't so nice when I was a kid...
Welcome to a hot-button topic.
...and thank you.

Sometimes, life's like that...
For some, the weekend storms were a bit too much...
For others, the storms were just what they needed...
